Event - Year 6 Meet Queen Elizabeth I

5 May 2021

As part of our Crime and Punishment topic, Year 6 received an exciting visit from Queen Elizabeth I.

Initially, we listened to the Queen’s speech and then we used our inference skills to read between the lines and think about what she was asking us to do.

During the lesson, we used formal language to ask higher-level questioning to improve our literacy skills.

To get into character, we used 'freeze frame'; this helped us consider the different social structures within the Tudor Era.

Sienna said, "Doing the workshop with Queen Elizabeth I, helped me speak in character, so that when we do our writing, we can voice someone from the Tudor era."

"This workshop helped me practise my inference skills and to read between the lines to answer questions," stated Georgia.
