Sports Premium

St Gerard's Catholic Primary is pleased to introduce Sports Premium, designed to help enhance physical education and sport opportunities for all pupils. This funding supports improvements to teaching, participation, and access to a wider range of sporting experiences, ensuring every child can build confidence, develop skills, and enjoy being active.

Our Sports Premium approach focuses on raising standards in PE through high-quality provision and targeted support. We work to strengthen staff knowledge, improve the consistency of PE delivery, and increase pupils’ engagement in regular, structured physical activity. Where appropriate, we also use specialist coaching to broaden expertise and introduce new activities that pupils can learn and progress in over time.

We are committed to using the funding responsibly and transparently to make measurable improvements. Parents can expect clear plans for how the Sports Premium will be spent, alongside ongoing evaluation of impact on participation, fitness, and sporting outcomes. Together, we aim to create a positive culture of sport and wellbeing at St Gerard's Catholic Primary, supporting children to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
