This week, School Council have participated in a national scheme called the RSPB Big Schools’ Birdwatch. The survey helps to build a picture of garden wildlife across the U.K. The results from our survey can help the RSPB spot problems in the bird population and consider how to rectify this.

Using binoculars, we viewed different types of birds around the school grounds, we were excited to see a herring gull and several blue tits. All of our sightings were recorded on a fact sheet.

We had a great time learning about the different colours and markings on the birds that we found. It has been a fantastic opportunity to build curiosity, outdoor learning skills, and a love for nature.
