UNESCO created World Book day in 1995 as a worldwide celebration of reading. Spending just ten minutes a day reading and sharing stories with children can make a crucial difference to their future success and it’s fun for all involved.
This year, the message for all children is ‘you are a reader‘!
Our school day has been filled with lots of exciting activities, including dressing up as our favourite book character, a book swap, reading activities and a visit to the library. During the day, children have engaged in discussion about stories and have celebrated the joy of reading for pleasure.
“You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax, all you need is a book.” Dr. Seuss
