On Saturday 15 June, children from St Gerard’s received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. Through the partnership of home, school and the church, they have learnt the importance of this Sacrament.
During Mass, the children sang ‘Come Live in Us’, which is a message of how, now they have received the Body of Christ, the light of Jesus will continue to shine through their thoughts, words and actions.
On Friday 21 June, those who received their First Holy Communion, last week, gathered together with other members of St Gerard’s School and parish community, to celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving.
Father Matthew presented each child with their certificate. The children then enjoyed a First Holy Communion breakfast at school.
